Patrick: You called me at 4 AM last night. We had an interesting conversation. I should have recorded it.

Mike: I usually don’t call people after I’ve been drinking. I should not have used my cellphone. Are you sure I called you?

Patrick: Yes, I’m sure. I should have asked if you needed my help. Where were you?

Mike: I went out to a show with my Swedish shipmate, Sharon. I should have stopped drinking.

Patrick: What? Shipmate? You were on a ship?

Mike: Yes, Sharon and I worked on a cruise ship together. I wish she could have met you, but she’s shy. I should not have had so much tequila last night. I shudder to think about how much money I shelled out. I should not have had so many shots.

Patrick: Why did you drink so much? Was it a special occasion?

Mike: Well, that’s what I mean. I should not have accepted the offer from Sharon to go out on a Monday night. I also should have ordered a water every now and then. I have such a hangover.

Patrick: Jeez, Mike. There’s one thing that makes me really mad.

Mike: What’s that?

Patrick: You should not have ignored me. You should have asked me to join you.
