Patrick: What’s up?

Jeness: Oh not much, but I’m not having the best day.

Patrick: Oh no! Well, what’s wrong?

Jeness: Well, I was supposed to start my new job yesterday, but when I got to the office, they told me the employee who used to work there decided to stay.

Patrick: What a waste of time. When a person quits I think they should stick to their word. Hey, my friend works for a whale watching company in West Vancouver, do you want me to give her your resume? It will be a really easy job.

Jeness: Whale watching could be fun. What’s the wage like? I used to commute to West Vancouver from Metrotown and it took forever. The bus was always late, even when it was supposed to be nice outside.

Patrick: The wage is so-so, but it will give you a few new experiences while you’re on the boat.

Jeness: Thanks for the tip, but I’m supposed to have a job interview for a waitressing job tomorrow.

Patrick: Sweet! Where?

Jeness: This wonderful pub not so far from my house called The Home Away.

Patrick: I used to go there all the time! That would be perfect! You could just walk there, even when the weather was snowy. It will be so convenient.

Jeness: I’m supposed to practice my interview questions, can you help me? I need someone to walk me through an interview, it will be such a help.

Patrick: No, sorry. I’m supposed to have an interview at a pub near your house in an hour.
